1.A sub-genre of punk music that has very emotional(hence emo)lyrics, often talking about suicide,love,or death.also see screamo 2.A culture in which the people listen to emo/screamo music,are very emotional,often very artistic, and feel that no one understands them. Some emos are gay or bisexual. stereotyped as depressed or angry. 3.Many characterize emos by thier clothes. Often includes band tees(often dead or unheard-of bands),very tight "drainpipe" pants,black/striped clothing, hoodies,and studded or metal accessories. Many wear converse 4.Hair is often dyed black, dark brown, or an unnatural color. often parted to one side, covering one eye 5.Many people stereotype emos as the people who cut themselves. this stereotype is not completely true. Emos are publically emotional people, and this may lead to cutting, but just remember that there are preps,jocks,and skaters that cut or self harm as well.
