Named for the Gadsden Purchase, the stately 5-story, 160-room hotel became a home away from home for cattlemen, ranchers, miners, & businessmen. The hotel was leveled by fire & rebuilt in 1929. Although dealing with drug trafficking, migrants & economic issues, Douglas is working to revamp its community & reputation.
