Often, those who are ditching school will claim to be sick, or kill off a family member to claim the class-free days allotted by the school for just such an occasion. When asked where a ditching student is, present students will often claim that he or she got hit by a bus and has passed away, so that they might claim a class-free day as well. Those caught ditching are reprimanded, and consequently mocked and degraded by their peers.
