A semi-satirical, student-coined term describing a chronic and multifaceted state of physical and mental exhaustion common among students at highly competitive academic institutions—particularly Daewon Foreign Language High School. Often used humorously or self-deprecatingly, Daewonbyung is not a medically recognized condition but represents a cluster of stress-induced or lifestyle-related symptoms, including: Chronic fatigue Nausea or queasiness, especially in the mornings Dizziness and light-headedness, sometimes during or after long study sessions Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or other gastrointestinal irregularities, often stress-related Headaches, tension-type or migraine-like Caffeine addiction, typically from overconsumption of coffee or energy drinks Insomnia or irregular sleep cycles Mood swings, anxiety, or emotional numbness Academic burnout and decreased motivation despite continued high performance
