Cynical
The most misused word on the internet. To be cynical is to tend to view people as by their own self-interest. Not to be confused with pessimism, which is a tendency to believe that a bad outcome is more likely than a good one. Also, not to be confused with skepticism, which is when you would doubt the truth of something and demand evidence.
