Noun: 1. An offensive gaming term used with a negative connotation by the apathetic gamer to accuse another gamer of caring. 2. Used to deflect agitation as a ruse.

Ex.1: Gamer A, "I can't believe you went AFK during the fight. We would have won if you didn't AFK!!!" Gamer B, "Chill out man, smoke some weed, don't be such an emo fag." Gamer A, "You are an idiot, and you are an unreliable lazy fuck." Gamer B, "Whatever dude, go slash your wrists with an emo knife." Ex.2: Gamer A "Are we that petty that you have to steal my shit?" Gamer B "Unfortunately, you didn't have claim when I killed it, A-SO-Sorry." Gamer A "Whatever man, I don't care honestly. No need to get so emo over it." Gamer B "...really? I get the kill and you call me emo?"

The byproduct of the late wave Baby Boomer's and early Generation X'ers that didn't beat the hell out of their boys, instill values and principals in them, and man them up. They find drama where there doesn't need to be any. Most usually have black, shaggy hair, a 28 inch waist or smaller, are Caucasian or Oriental, and listen to manufactured music that will be forgotten about in less than a year.

Emo is a genre of music, a type of pop-punk music, but with a softer, more mainstream and guitar-based sound. It is NOT a type of person/style, as more commonly thought. "Emo" people can be classified under "scene", which is basically the same thing.

Friend #1: "Did you hear My Chemical Romance broke up??!!" Friend #2: "OMG, yes! I was so depressed when I found out... they were my favourite emo band." Friend #1: "I know... I thought you should know." *frowns* "Have you heard of All-Time-Low? They're a pop-punk band, kinda like My Chemical Romance." Friend #2: "Yeah, I've heard of them. Thanks ____!"

A derogatory label for someone who is sad. I'm writing this to clear some things up about this label. 1) A person who listens to bands such as My Chemical Romance or Black Veil Brides is NOT "emo" 2) A person who is depressed is NOT "emo" 3) A person who dresses a certain way is NOT "emo". 4) Everybody who seems to make fun of people just for feeling how they feel, or liking what they like, or dressing how they dress, can fuck themselves. You don't see me going around making fun of you for listening to Lil' Wayne or wearing Nikes and playing basketball, now do you? The people you define as "Emo" have never done anything to you, and therefore you should stop shoving your head up your ass. Making fun of someone for self-harming or telling them to kill themselves is unacceptable and disgusting. Think about what kind of human that makes you. 5) If people call you emo, or you're suicidal, know that I'm always here to talk. They're not any better than you and you don't deserve the shit you get. Stay strong, and don't let them get to you. Don't be ashamed for liking a certain type of music or dressing a certain way. You be you, and don't let anyone bring you down for it.
