Emo

It can mean a lot of different things as you can see. My definition of "Emo" is someone who is Emotional. What i mean by this is one person (guy or girl) being overly emotional over one thing. It can be overly happy or overly mad and the most common one is overly sad. I must add that not all Emo's cut! In fact this is commonly confused with depression or suicidal thoughts. Some may because its the stereo type or because they have depression but also act this way. In fact Emo has become confused by so many things.

That girl/guy is overly emo about getting an A on the test. The women was emo when her husband was put in jail for a crime he didnt commit. I was emo over a break up.

a pathetic, sad "hip" millenium-brat word a watered down word of what used to in the 80s-90s be simply called a goth. a way of making being "emotional" and "poetic" seem outrageously trendy also one who frequently goes to hot topic to buy ridiculously expensive clothes--and who wears shirts with bands and pop culture references they know nothing about--a usually upper middle class kid who wants everyone to know what a "misfit" they are an emo is the equivalent of a yippie--which was back in the day a poser hippie a multicolored sheep who thinks they go against the grain

emo: "my life is so tragic, my mom won't get me a cell-phone i need to listen to sad music and contemplate the woe of my existent" emo: "i love tight pants and rainbow colors but inside i'm so dark and i've been through things you can't even contemplate like that one weekend when i couldn't go to the mall and hang with my equally troubled and complicated friends" emo: "my mommy didn't give me dessert so i gave my self a few small scratches on my wrist cause i'm so dark and sad and oppressed" emo: "everything's so sad and hard and no one understands me except the people at hot topic who facilitate my need to be a "rebel"
