China is a populated country that is home to over 1 billion people. No, China does not arrest you or put you to jail for speaking up. (I have lived there for 6 years). China has a long 5000-year history and successfully controlled COVID-19 because people actually stayed home during lockdown. It is not what some people think, that everything made there is bad (If it is very cheap, it is likely that it is not good quality, but if it is at a decent price, then it should be good quality. Chinese parents are usually very strict because they want their children to succeed in life, to work a job with good pay without much physical work. Chinese schools are strict because they want the best for the children, as they would be people who work for the country later in life.
