Stands for Canadian Biased Officiating. It is a term NHL fans may use if their team is playing one of the six Canadian teams and feel that the officiating is not fair. Usually manifests itself in terms of penalties called. The penalties may be largely in favor of the Canadian team or may be evened out at the end when the American team has no hope of catching up. May also ivolve a Canadian penalty being immediately followed by an American penalty.

This cute mug reminded me of a quote from an obscure biography I found quite by accident in a tiny hole-in-the-wall 2nd hand shop in Portland, ME in 1987: 'The Life and Times of Lazarus of Bethany'.
