The online accounts of the women are usually fake and feature images or video taken from other sources and the people running the scams are usually men. Cambaiting is a term that originally was birthed on 4chan, where it originally meant to coax, female adult webcam streamers, to do inane or stupid things like put a shoe on their head. It has now evolved to meaning essentially any baiting via cam streaming.
