Term for a person enamored with Greek history and culture, particularly those of the late-antiquity and medieval periods. Often a byzaboo is not actually Greek, but constantly touts their nationalistic views on the internet. The word comes from the Byzantine Empire, which was the Greek/eastern continuation of the Roman Empire and lasted until 1453 A.D. Originates with /gsg/ - "Grand Strategy General" on 4chan's Video Games board.
