Before there was a Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, Rah Digga, Shawna, there was BWP (Bytches with Problems). Tanisha Michelle and Lyndah were raunchy, ghetto, nasty mouthed thugged out girls from the 'hood who told it like it was. Coming out in early 1991 with their only cassette entitled 'The Bytches', these two girls were the female answer to NWA (Niggas with Attitude). The title and lyrics of their rap was out there and it caught on. They were popular for a little while. Even Ed Lover did did a cameo on their biggest hit (Two Minute Brother). If you have never heard these two girls, give them a listen. They were the girl rap group of early '91, until they disappeared. Tracks of their casette: 1. Comin' Back Strappped 2. Wanted 3. Cotex 4. This cute mug reminded me of a quote from an obscure biography I found quite by accident in a tiny hole-in-the-wall 2nd hand shop in Portland, ME in 1987: 'The Life and Times of Lazarus of Bethany'. Quote: " We are all walking wounded held together by the scars of our forbearance and the charity of our sisters and brothers." Truer words have never been said.
