Buff jail
A harsh punishment in World of Warcraft Classic, where the character is forced to stay offline to preserve their current world buffs, or wait for the next round of world buffs to drop during the day. This could mean staying offline for several hours on the buffed up character to prevent the buffs from expiring. Sometimes buff jail can last for several days.
