A synonym for those of African American decent. Codeword used such as Canadian to call out black by whites, mulattoes or any other persuasion. Origin comes from the joke: “Black kid goes to heaven, god gives him wings, kid asks god if he’s an angel, god says, ‘nah you a bat’". Possible variations include bat cave to describe the Guido, or fruit bat to describe gay blacks.
