No, you always end up back in Rome. The white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, commonly associated with this statement, symbolizes the anxiety caused by the unstoppable passage of time. Time is always ticking, and time is the separation between past loss, current joy, and future loss. Slowly but surely, you will lose everything until you experience the ultimate loss: Your life. No matter what, all good things must come to an end.
