Many people have different veiws on cheerleading. Sport? not a Sport? In my opinion it is. People often say that cheerleaders are sluts and dumb but, this is often not the case. I am a strait A student and, have been cheerleading for 9 years of my life. It's something that ive become pasionate about. Your all probably thinking "How could someone feel passion for something like cheerleading?" Well it's the same feeling that baseball players feel right before a game, or before a swimmer is about to jump into a pool. Hate it all you want but, cheerleading is something i love. Not because i like struting around in a short skirt trying to impress everyone around me but, because i love the fact that it's a number of girls working together to acieve the same goal. My favorite part is competeing. The rush you feel before you go on, the conection you feel with your teamates, it's amazing. The satisfaction of landing your tumbling pass, the fullfilment of saving a stunt. I love everything about it. You question how cheerleading could be hard if your only working for 2:30secs when soccer players go for an hr. Well that winning shot of the game takes as much skill and focus as it does to be sure you hit your tumbling pass precisely. Many girls work so hard with practice everyday to try and reach perfection. You all have the right to feel its not a sport but I also have the right to feel that it is. You dont have to agree with me but this is how I feel and im standing up for what I believe in.
