Originally the last name Eigel was the german word (hedgehog)Igel. Eigel is a last name belonging to only american born german immigrants. Who are at least 6th generation. This misspelling of Igel (original word.) Can be attributed to poor english skills at Ellis island. After being misheard furring immigration the last name became Eigel. While its origins in germany are not fully known. Evidence suggests (after popular poll from current Eigels in the United States.) First heard the term “Cheddar Headed” from the song Feel Good by the Gorillaz. Had to look it up and found the definition hilarious and at times very true! So......had to have it! Took it to work and it definitely made an impression. Hahaha!
