an individual who does not identify with their assigned gender at birth. this can include people who were assigned male at birth (afab) but align more with the female gender. these individuals are trans women. its can also go the other way around for trans men. some people do not fit into the gender binary and can identify with something under the nonbinary umbrella. these people can be AFAB or AMAB. it doesnt matter it is important to note that transgender is not its own gender. a trans man is still a man. same for trans women. just like a cis man is still a man.
