808
A bass chop. Which translate basically to a spilce of the lower ender of a bass pluck commonly used in hip hop tracks first heard in the Roland TR-808. Patterns of 808’s are sometimes or commonly used instead of kick patterns or sometimes used as a bass-line however the problem being using base 808’s for a bass-line in the same bar as kick pattern is the sound at the start of an 808 sounds like a kick so they would repeat the sound making it sound shit if the break pattern isn't quantised or sometimes its timed right they just don’t sound good, so produces avoid using them in the same bar.
