Bisleepolar Mug
The state of being of sometimes sleeping 12 or more hours ('down' cycle), while other times sleeping 3 or less hours ('up' cycle), which are often located directly adjacent to each other. It can repeat in this manner, or be long stretches of the down cycle and then long stretches of the up cycle, or a long stretch of the up cycle deviant from one's normal routine, followed by a short recovery in the form of the down cycle. This word often applies to finals week and intense workweeks which have weekends to recover on. It can also apply to insomnia, where the body exhausts itself to the point where it can't postpone sleep any more. It is sometimes anecdotally observed in conjunction with bipolar 2 and some anxiety conditions.
