While most people either fall into the typical "male" or "female" set of sex characteristics, many people naturally deviate from them. These people are considered intersex. Kinda related but still different from gender, gender identity, and gender expression. 2. An abbreviation of sexual intercourse. An act between two or more individuals that involves simulation of one or more participants' genitalia. Sex can carry strong emotional and societal baggage with it but is not necessarily dependent on it. As long as sex takes place between two or more consenting adults, it should be okay.
