Duck into the woods is a call to action used by skiers and snowboarders to get off the main ski runs and poach the backcountry of tree skiing. Ducking the rope is often associated with a duck into the woods, as many out of bounds skiing and riding areas are bordered by trees. The Jackson Hole Air Force would silently duck into the woods to avoid capture by the ski patrol for skiing outside the Jackson Hole Ski Area boundary.
