Commenting on someones status, to the point where it's a conversation. Especially in the event where you WERE IMing, and then, start communicating through a status.
"Statusing." Status: Had a great day Someone: Glad you had a good day. Someone else: Me too. Someone: Why was it a good day? Someone else: Because it was warm & fun. etc.
