The "cool kids" use this to describe themselves when they do something stupid or dress like an idiot. The rest of the population uses "swag" to describe a person who they dislike, but doesn't want to sound like a mean person when they are with a group of people. "That kid has swag" really means, "Wow, look at that try-hard kid making a fool of himself." "Swag" has turned from "Secretly We Are Gay" to " Dang it, I have to think of a word to try to make myself look cool because otherwise I'll look like a loser".
