Joe strongly believes in god, yet he respects his best buddy, Greg, with his strong belief of being an atheist. Sam's mother respect his son's choice of being a male stripper. Cassie sees the light of all living things and respects the life of all bugs. Cassie can't hurt a fly. Joan is respected by her high marks on the test. James is respected for being a financially independent , who does male stripping for women as a side job for fun. He comes home every night to please his man.

respect can be internal (respect for oneself), but it is a term typically used to describe a feeling of admiration or positive regard for someone else. respect and love, unfortunately, are not interchangeable terms. Someone might "love" you, but love is not sustainable, "good," or virtuous in its own right / by itself.

My boyfriend really respects me, he doesn't pressure me into doing things I'm not comfortable with and he does things that improve my everyday.
