What's on your mug?

A clothing store located in your nearest crappy mall. It has nothing to do with rebelling or being "original." I shop at Hot Topic because I love music. Not because I'm a "goth/emo" who's trying to rebel against socitey. The store motto is "All about the music" and I want a T-shirt with my favorite band on it, thanks. But when I go to the mall I go to Hot Topic, American Eagle, Aeropostle, and Hollister. And if that makes me a poser or whatever the crap you want to call it then hey I'll say it, "I'M A POSER!" It's a store. Just like American Eagle or Hollister or any other "preppy store." A way to waste your money on clothes that you'll only wear for two months because after three you're daddy will have to buy you a knew one becase "OMG, this shirt so old. It's so last season. I just don't think I can bare to wear it anymore!"

An overrated "anti-mainstream" store whose customers assume that individuality can only be earned through self-mutiliation (heavy piercing), mass-produced anti-authority messages, and random references to vastly overrated 80s pop culture. The government could easily fund a Hot Topic to keep rebellious people from actually doing something about the world. Maybe they already are.

Right now I am not a true person because I don't put pieces of metal in my neck or my back or my dick. If I did I would be an indidvidual and Hot Topic would hire me because I am unique.

Hot Topic sells ugly neon hoodies with cat ears, tacky cheetah studded pants made for fat people, cheap makeup, and ridiculous bows that don't even stay in your hair. You can sometimes find cute pins/backpacks/band tees/ect., but for the most part it sucks. At least Hollister is good quality, and doesn't look ridiculous. Everyone in there stares at you with hatred if you aren't decked out in scene gear and have black eyeliner caked on.
