ASL or asl; Abbreviation for Age, Sex, and Location. Used in computer chat as a question to gain basic personal information. Usually frowned upon as an impersonal and annoying introduction.

Age, sex, and location. Usually in the form of a question. Asking for a chatter's ASL lets you know a little about the person you are talking to. However, it is looked down upon by many, who feel that the term is associated with losers who spend all of their time on the internet.
We don't ask for ASLs here- it's an internet cliché.
