Name written under the Viking context, as Erik Erik Thorvaldsson “the red” written with just a K in some books. Derived from the Old Norse name Eiríkr, that does not have a C anywhere. Meaning "one, alone, unique", as in the form Æinrikr explicitly, but it could also be from *aiwa(z) "everlasting, eternity", as in the Gothic form Euric. The second element -ríkr stems either from Proto-Germanic *ríks "king, ruler" (cf. Gothic reiks) or the therefrom derived *ríkijaz "kingly, powerful, rich, prince"; from the common Proto-Indo-European root *h₃rḗǵs The name is thus usually taken to mean "sole ruler, autocrat" or "eternal ruler, ever powerful". As Erik or Eric sounds the same, used in the sense of a proper noun meaning "one ruler" may be the origin of Eriksgata, and if so it would have meant "one ruler's journey". The tour was the medieval Swedish king's journey, when newly elected, to seek the acceptance of peripheral provinces. So if your name is Erik with a K, that’s the original! all others are just adaptations.
Erik Thorvaldsson, was the official name of Erik the Red.

Erik is your dream prince charming. He has the good looks and an even better heart to go along with it. He is kind, caring, and loving. He will do anything in his power to make and keep you happy. Erik carries a calming, zen presence yet he always cheers up the room. Everywhere he goes people love his energy and always leaves the place better than he found it. I am so lucky to love and have an Erik in my life.
Erik will change your world!
