Emo

In the late 1980's Goths & New Romantics would meet in nightclubs, have sex and produce babies. The resulting spawn of these two hideous fashion disasters would then grow up to become Emo's. Combineing the worst possible aspects of it's parents emo's are lving proof that two wrongs not make a right. Because of their love of Hitler-esque extreme side partings, sullen expressions and men wearing make-up crowds of emos generally resemble Neo-Nazis at a Motley Crue gig. Emo is a shortened version of Emotional & used as a name becuase it is thought describe their sensitive, thoughful state of mind, although a moore accurate name would 'Twats'.

An Emo is a [slang] term that is enforced on [someone] by people who [claim] to be "cool". Real Emo's do not go round saying how much of an Emo they Are. There are Three types of Emo.

Type.1. Normal Emo. some [one] who listens to [music] because they enjoy it and not because they think its cool. they also dont [stop] listnening to [music] just because the band has been "discovered". this type of emo does not go on huge shopping spree's at the most expensive stores to "buy" their look. they wear what they feal like and are comfortable to wear. they are not [DEPRESSED], they are happy and normal human beings, they see the world as a wonderful place. its just inhabited by lost and depressed people. Type2. Fag Emo. This is the type of emo that gives Emo's a bad name. they go out and max out their daddy's credit card on the most expensive clothing, they find the most underground [music]. they can and dont even listen to it. they wear band t-shirt's even if they dont even know 3 songs or cant name the people in it. Type3. Emo. This type of Emo is The least common. this type of Emo is [one] who rejects [society] all together and refuses to talk or co-operate with anyone who isnt an emo. they stand around and "look cool" they do things deliberatly to piss of comformists. this is the sort of emo that slits their wrists just so they can show it off.

Bland, shallow corporatist pastiche of Punk that embodies non of the values or raw honest emotional integrity of Punk but continually dances on its grave non the less.. Strangely popular.

I just saw Emo kings My Chemical Romance advertise Guitar Hero on XBox Live Marketplace.. Man what a bunch of sellouts plus their music is really bland and doesn't connect with me on any emotional level at all

Emo

Originally started as a type of music genre, emo has evolved into a type of style for young teens. Many emo people are considored posers by people not in their cliques. Many people who considor themselves as emo are in fact not emo, but just favor the style. Posers who get a little carried away tend to cut themselves to show off how emo they are. People who considor themselves emo are most likely not emo, unless you count what their friends say. People who do NOT considor themselves emo are probably more emo than the other type of emo, who considor themselves emo. REAL emo people most likely have depression disorders and mood problems.

Ex 1 (Poser Emo): Emo #1- Hey dude, your cuts make you look so emo right now. Emo #2- I know, right? Ex 2 (Emo): - Guy #1- Hey dude . . . are you emo? Emo #1- I don't know . . . I don't really care. I'm just kind of depressed.

“EMO" It's a word commonly misunderstood as a modern stereotype,which is used day after day again and again. "emo" is actually referred to a specific sub-genre of punk rock known as "emotive-hardcore" which has been around since the 80’s Emotive-Hardcore has branched off of other similar genres such as "Hardcore" and "Post-Hardcore". Emotive-hardcore is the true meaning of the word "emo" and has been twisted to refer to something far from what originally intended. In fact, “emo” has kept its original meaning and now its new meaning causing it to become an ambiguous word. Most however just use it to make their lives less boring (haha) However these people, although most listen to “emo” music, cannot possible be referred to as “emo” because they are not a sub-genre! It is not only wrong to label someone as “EMO” but also degrading because of the numerous stereotypes. the most common misconseption: CUTTING. These do refer to a minority of the “Scene/HxC” society. Although scene kid’s clothing may represent a state of depression it has nothing to with being a cutter. Scene kids and cutters are two separate types of persons. -Remember that if everyone were the same, it would be a pretty boring, bland, and monotone world. The need to be different is necessary in order for one to express their inner feelings and thoughts, as well as share common interests with others.
