Generalized form of idolization of a certain person or group. Stans are typically the people who group together as a "fandom" (some fandoms are not cancerous, but the kind that are formed by Stans are. But that does not mean that the material they idolize turns cancerous too.) these Stans are never very old and usually enjoy something called "shipping" which is an extremely creepy practice of saying that two characters/people should get together for a sexual relationship. Or another thing that Stans enjoy are "fan-art" which can be of varying qualities, sexual vibes, and general vibes.

Those stans need to chill, after all they are shipping a minor.

Coming from the eminem song "stan" from 1999, the word stan was created to mean "stalker fan" or "obsessed fan" but now a days stans are people that finds comfort in a content creator (actor, singer, youtuber, streamer, etc) They can usually be found in twitter under content creators replies.

yeah, im a stan of these youtuber named corpse! hes a really cool guy, maybe you should watch him? ive heard of him actually! i dont exactly stan him but i do enjoy his content from time to time
