larp

a word that used to actually mean something, well two things primarily. Either literally live action roleplayers (effectively a form of pretend play) or posers (people who pretend to be interested in something they're genuinely not) Nowadays, it's been spammed by gen alpha kids who don't understand either meaning to the point where the word doesn't have a concrete definition anymore.

Some person: *Wearing a Fortnite t-shirt* iPad Kid: Larp larp larp sahur! Name every fortnite season Some person: I never pretended to be a Fortnite superfan, I just like playing the game sometimes. iPad Kid: Do you get victory royales every game? Some person: No, I shouldn't have to to enjoy it, I just find it fu... iPad Kid: larper! You're a larpgod on the larpometer. God, there's no limit to the larp! I bet even trollface labubu mango six seven kid eating dubai chocolates could beat you in a 1v1 Some person: Sure, whatever kid. Come back when you understand english.

Larp

Adj. - A reiteration of the word by Gen Alpha, being a 'larper' is sometimes used as a derogatory term and sometimes not. It is just a repackaged version of being a poser. Unfortunately for the people who think that 'larp' still pertains to its old acronym, Live Action Role Play, 'larp' is now used as a standalone word. You all have Gen Alpha to blame for that. The intention is still the same though. V. - The action of 'larping' is to pretend to be someone, by copying their actions and movement, and even personality. In other cases, it can also be used derogatorily as a way to tell someone that they're being a poser.

"*Tells a very niche reference that only real fans of x series would know*" "Huh? What do you mean by that?" "Larper..." "I am not larping!"
