Person Other than Grunt. In the US Army, a POG is any soldier who isn't Infantry (nicknamed Grunt). It is a derogatory name often yelled at these soldiers because POGs often sit in air [conditioned] offices and don't hump it [in the field] or see combat. [Infantryman] can be identified by wearing a blue cord on there dress uniform and/or a rifle on there combat uniform. POGS will not wear a blue cord and will not have rifles and possibly a knife instead.
