The rather unpopular Ford Capri replacment, the Probe was dubbed the Essex Porsche for being an appropriate status symbol at the Dagenham cruise circuit. This rather ugly motor shares it's chassis with, amongst others, Mazda vans. Nowadays can include any crap wannabe sports car, but especially Fords, due to their now shut car plant at Dagenham, Essex.
