Fioricet is a drug that is generally prescribed for tension [headaches] or migraines. It usually contains 50 mg of butalbital (a barbiturate), 300 mg of acetaminophen, and 40 mg of caffeine. You can also get Fioricet with 30 mg of codeine in it. An old formulation of Fioricet contains 325 mg of acetaminophen instead of 300 mg of acetaminophen which is in the new formulation. The new formulation is a schedule III [controlled substance] while the old formulation is exempt from the [controlled substance] scheduling. Fioricet can make you high. But you should watch out for the acetaminophen which can destroy your liver at high doses. The high is similar to being drunk.
