Surgical procedure done to restore major damage to the structure of the hand. Typically done when a persons' hand has been crushed beyond recognition. Tommy Don surgery is most likely done in emergency situations where the hand can no longer perform basic functions. i.e. open doors, wave, shake hands etc. * Once a patient undergoes surgery, the hand is usually restored to 100% strength or more. Many times the patients' hand comes back stronger.
