Pink Floyd's opus, and basically put the band on the map. Released in 1973, and is still going strong in terms of sales and airplay. It's musically transcendental, ethereal, cathartic; lyrically dark and even emotional, dealing with themes such as insecurity, insanity, war, death, and the evils of money. Recommended for anyone who's just getting into rock music.
