Pride based on a people who have so much to be proud of. There is so much cultural richness in Mexican culture to be proud of: food, music, dance, ceremonies, work ethic, [family values]. Mexican pride means having pride in [enchiladas], guacamole, pozole, mole, tamales, churros, raspados, salsas, tortillas, beans, caldo, champurrado, atole, nopales, etc. It means being proud of Mariachi, banda, norteñas, corridos, rancheras, folklórico, danzas prehispanicas, and all the rhythm that flows through our veins. One celebrates el Dia de los Muertos, las Posadas, la Navidad, El grito, Dia de los reyes. The proud Mexican is a [hard worker], who [values] family, respectfulness, [hospitality], simplicity, and bravery. Mexican pride involves loving the Tri-color flag of green, white and red. A proud Mexican knows what the flag color stands for and the historical basis of the Eagle on the cactus eating the snake. A proud Mexican knows and loudly sings "Mexicanos al Grito de Guerra" at Soccer events. Finally, a proud Mexican has an unwavering faith and love for his country. Although the government may not be handling the country properly, the proud Mexican understands that he/she loves where he/she came from because it is a beautiful place.
