Kit is a slang word used to describe a young woman usually in her 20’s or 30’s who is attracted to older men. As the older man-younger woman [relationship] becomes more accepted, this term has grown. The origin of “kit” is unknown. It was either coined to compliment the silver fox (as kit is the word for a baby fox) or is a shortened version of kitten. Both origins indicate the woman’s young age compared to her older partner. A kit is often a genuine, very good looking young woman who is sought after by men of all ages, but she will turn down advances from men her own age. She is not after money or sex, though those are added bonuses. Instead, she feels more comfortable in a [relationship] where the man has the upper hand. A kit should not be confused with a gold digger, which is also becoming increasingly prevalent; though many [gold diggers] will disguises themselves as kits in order to hide their [ill] intent towards older, wealthy men.
