an amusement park located in hershey, pennsylvania. the main theme of the park pertains to hershey's chocolate. it is located directly next to the main hershey's [chocolate factory] (one of the rides, the blue cross blue shield monorail, leaves the park boundaries, crosses a road, and takes you through one of the parking lots of the factory before returning to the park). it has a zoo, zooamerica. admission to zooamerica is free when you buy a ticket to hersheypark. hersheypark was originally opened in 1907 by milton hershey as a recreation place for hershey employees, but was later opened to the [general public]. it is home to some of [the greatest] roller coasters in north america, including the comet, wildcat, lighning racers, great bear, storm runner, and farenheit, a steel roller coaster that has a 97 degree negative drop and is currently under construction. it will open when the park opens at the end of may 2008. hersheypark is said to have over 2 million visitors every season (late may-early october).
