Stands for Mar Salvatruchas Trece (thirteen in Spanish, taken from the [Southsiders] or Sur 13)
Mara Salvatruchas means something like Gangster [Salvadoran] Soldiers....
Anyway, MS-13 is THE most dangerous gang in America, possibly the world. Why? THey have no purpose other than beating, shooting, and chopping up rival gang members...the problem is, they don't check to make sure someone's a rival before they kill them, they tend to stab first ask later. If you see MS-13 graffiti in your hood, don't freak out...most sets that claim Ms-13 are posers trying to get the same attention. Beware, MS-13 is nationwide and also in MExico and El Salvador.
They formed in a funny way....there was a war in El Salvador, so a bunch of Salvadorans moved to LA. THere, they copied the Mexicans in LA and made gangs. The cops busted and deported these gangsters.....and [accidentally] [spread them] across the border, multiplying theire numbers. They beat in their members to ensure toughness, and they attack with knives and machetes rather than guns because stabbing is more "up close and personal" so it creates real fear. So yeah...the real MS is scary as hell, the poser MS is laughable.
Colors are blue and white....don't confuse with Sur X3 who also uses blue and [number 13].
