Specifically, [expensive] car stereos' BOSE systems are wired so stupid that you have to gut the ENTIRE system just to upgrade it.  Their speakers are in weird non-standard sizes and 1- or 2-ohm impedance (the norm is 4-ohm) and each has its own amplifier. They have all sorts of amplifiers and wires throughout the car it's a [Bermuda Triangle].  The head-unit is also specially matched to these shit speakers!

Try and install an aftermarket head-unit and it will blow up because it thinks the speakers are shorted (lower impedance noted above).  Try and replace the speakers and it will not sound as loud because of that same problem.  Most people just roll their eyes and say, "Bose?? rip that shit out and start over, new speakers, new stereo, rewire!!!!!!!!!"

Some housewives think BOSE is the best, but really it's not.   But [you know what], even their stereos are like filet-mignon prices for a Big Mac, they deserve their money since their marketing is top-notch.  Too bad their sound quality isn't as good as their prices would suggest, or as good as their marketing dept!!
