Note: this is about the prep found in every [American High school], not the older definition. Just so you know.

Egotistical, [materialistic], close-minded assholes that nobody besides other preps like. They are found in every school in the US, but are mainly found in Catholic and private high schools. They are shallow and usually rely on the media to tell them what is and isnt poplular. Fashion, hygene and dating are the top priorities of preps, and most if not all of their conversations consist of gossip and whos dating/breaking up with so-and-so. Preps often have huge egos (or try to have huge egos) and think theyre a gift from God, even though they usually go on to live a pointless life working in an office cubicle while the "omg totally ewww gross" people they made fun of go on to be musicians, artists, or any other job that requires creativity.

Girls- girl preps are usually seen wearing extremely tight Abercrombie and Hollister clothes that they bought with mommy and daddy's money, because [everybody else] is wearing them. They usually outgrow these clothes within a matter of months, then go back to mommy and daddy and ask for another $200 so they can buy more. Girl preps usually refuse to socialize with guys they find "un crush-worthy", and so as a result have very few friends of the [opposite sex]. Most of the time these girls dont like the guys for their [personality], but for their looks. This means many shallow [relationships]. Their music preferance mostly consists of "pop-punk" bands like Fall Out Boy and [Panic! at the Disco], as that is what the media has told them to like. Usually have no reconizable abilities or talents other than dating, and if you handed them a guitar or any other object that takes skill, chances are they wouldnt even be able to hold it right.

Guys- Prep guys can usually be seen wearing polo shirts and a crew cut atop their head. They are usually posers, acting nice when friends are absent and then picking on the closest non-prep whenever a friend is nearby. Their intrests consist of sports, clothes, and most of all, girls. Their music preferance is mainly rap, which is ironic since a guy prep will never hesitate to make fun of someone who is poor or percieved as poor. Guy preps usually restrain from risk-taking activities such as drugs, alcohol and sex. Not because it they think its the right thing to do, but simply because they are too scared. Like girl preps, they will only talk to a member of the [opposite sex] if they are "hott". Also like girl preps, often lack any talent and go on to work in an office cubicle for the rest of their life, serving no purpose to society.
