Easily mistaken for a mini polar bear, the Gwahg is the only nonomnivorous bear. Gwahgs are found in the forests of northwestern America. They feed off of local plants and fruits when needed, but every spring all the Gwahgs congregate and head towards the ocean where they feed off of shrimp all summer. Their annual trip is commonly compared with the penguin’s mating trip in the winter. Gwahgs got there name because they feed off the same shrimp as the Gwhahgs, which are mammals closely related to the platypus. Gwhahgs are found throughout the coastline of Australia and New Zealand. Coincidentally, rare spottings of Gwahg bears have occurred throughout eastern New Zealand. Although Gwahgs are native to northwestern America, they make great house pets and can adapt to all climates. They range from 7-15 oz. in weight and 10-20 in. in height.
