SABIS is a Lebanese school system, now a network, established in 1886 in Choueifat, Lebanon. Combining American, British, and Lebanese education systems, this school system will make you study your ass off just to go to a private university in the Middle East. The material covered in SABIS schools is mainly CAIE-based, then shifting towards College Board-based in high school. The feature of the two curricula doubles the workload on students, not to mention daily examinations composed of either CA (Previously covered material) or Periodic (More recent material, which is harder and more challenging) exams. With the latter changing subjects every week, students are unable to find a comfortable routine for studying. Students have struggled so much with this system that they regularly hand out boosts for marks and have created the Prep-List, which is a list of previously answered questions a certain student has gotten wrong, which they can complete for extra credit. Although this explanation is very accusatory and negative, students in SABIS schools have shown that being challenged with harder material has allowed them to surpass the level of other schools, and have consistently shown higher scores on external examinations such as the SAT, CAIE exams, and AP exams. SABIS schools often rank high compared to other schools, with the International School of Choueifat in Doha ranking 7th worldwide on the PISA examination.
