The systematic study of physical laws using the frameworks and tools of metascience—the science of science. The metascience of physical laws examines laws as phenomena that cut across physics, asking meta-level questions about how laws are discovered, how they're validated, how they change over time, and how they relate to the social and institutional contexts of physics.
