“Woketard” is a slang insult. It’s a mash-up of two pieces: “Woke” – originally meant being aware of social injustice, especially racism. Over time it expanded to include awareness of issues like [discrimination], inequality, and social justice more broadly. “-tard” – a derogatory suffix derived from the word retard, [historically] used to insult people with [intellectual] disabilities. Because of that history, many people consider it offensive. Put together, “woketard” is used online as a mocking or hostile term for someone perceived as extremely or blindly supportive of progressive social-justice ideas.
