Azuiya is a modern, eclectic spiritual religion inspired by Shintō, witchcraft, [spiritualism], and global folklore. It centers on Izanami, who in Azuiya is Mother Nature, the guardian of the afterlife, and a goddess of beauty, femininity, sensuality, sexuality, death, and return. Azuiya does not believe Izanami is all-knowing or all-powerful. She does not control the overworld or decide good or bad events. Instead, she oversees the movement of spirits between life and the afterlife, accepts offerings, and responds with guidance, blessings, or [consequences] rooted in balance rather than judgment. Azuiya draws [philosophical] influence from Shintō, especially reverence for nature and spirits, but does not claim to be Shintō or replace it. Cultural respect, learning, and boundaries are emphasized. Other influences include witchcraft practices, Japanese urban legends and yōkai, cryptids, and ancestral beliefs. Key beliefs: • Death is a transition, not a punishment • Sexuality and pleasure are sacred when healthy and consensual • Purity is based on intention and respect, not virginity • Mental and physical health require real medical care alongside [spirituality] • All people are accepted regardless of religion, gender, or sexuality The afterlife realm is called Tsukuyomiya, where spirits exist without [permanent death]. Some spirits are reborn into new lives and forget their past, while others remain as guardians or guides. Azuiyanism Followers: Azuiyans
