Shavian is an [alternate] alphabet for English created by Ronald Kingsley Read, with 48 letters. Each letter has only one sound, compared to typical Latin-script English, which has one E sound in edit, another in curve, a third in lived, and so on. There are no known people who were taught Shavian English before Latin English. Contrary to [popular belief], it is not used by [people who suck] ass at spelling and retreat like a hermit to Shavian to claim dominance over knowing a script most do not. However, a small yet dedicated group of people use Shavian in their day-to-day and scoff every time they see something in Latin English.
