A shitbucket is a thing, usually a machine, more specifically a vehicle, which is non-functional, barely-functional, of poor structural integrity, very dirty, or otherwise in terrible condition. A proper shitbucket, therefore, is a contemptible thing with metal and moving parts (or, at the very least, parts that ought to be moving) in its construction, ergo, a near-completely solid-state device such as a smartphone would more appropriately be called a potato, a brick, or in the case of the [Samsung Galaxy Note 7], a grenade. (Note: this is not an actual term used for [electronics] with shitty batteries. Yet, anyways.)
Shitbucket can also be used as a contemptuous epithet towards an individual, but this is uncommon.

Synonyms: bucket of bolts, rattletrap, rustbucket, jalopy (car-specific), shitbox, lemon, scrapheap, tin lizzie (car specific), clunker/junker, potato ([electronics]), toaster, bitty box (dated, UNIX-hacker jargon for shitty computer)
