(Pronunciation: buh-F’WID) An acronym which stands for “best friend(s) with intention to date,” describing someone with mutually romantic intentions, but who is not quite ready to have a formal relationship. Usually falls between “just friends” and an official dating relationship. Generally used as a noun, but can also be a verb (bfwiding).
